The Bargello Flame Quilt is part of the Bargello family patterns that originate from Florentine embroidery designs found on 15th century chairs in the Bargello palace of Florence, Italy. Bargello patterns are formed with strips of fabric of the same height but different widths, stepped or offset to create various designs; this particular design is made to look like flames. The quilt is hand-quilted with hundreds of yards of thread by a local Amish or Mennonite woman. It is initialed and dated. On a queen mattress, the quilt will have 19 inches of drop per side.
Welcome to Family Farm Handcrafts! Quilt making is an iconic representation of the Amish way of life, where working with their hands is highly valued. All items in our store are hand-stitched or handmade.
