The Broken Star design is a large lone star placed inside a curved set of similar diamond-shaped blocks that encircle it and form half-stars. The star pattern is of the oldest and most familiar of all the traditional quilt patterns, but great precision is needed to make all the star points meet and lie flat! The quilt includes an amazing 382 yards of hand-quilting by Mrs. Weaver. The Broken Star quilt measures generous enough in length to provide for a pillow tuck. Four miniature stars adorn the pillow top. On a king bed, the quilt will hang down about 16 inches per side.

Although the fabric pieces are sewn together by machine to make sure tighter stitching, all the quilting is done by hand. 100% cotton fabrics compose the top and bottom of the quilt. The batting sandwiched in between those two layers, however, is 100% polyester. This polyester batting warranties both warmth and outstanding washing results.
You will discover our quilts to be rather sizable in length and width. Most of our quilts are generous enough to eliminate the necessity for a dust ruffle and pillow shams. Just as mattress heights are different, each quilt's dimensions is different. We publish the quilt's measurements together with the determined drop for you to compare to the dimensions you may need. I love my purple Lone Star Quilt…it was a big investment for me! I bought a Twin size that was listed as fitting a Queen and it did (using my ruffle). Thank you for having accurate measurements and good photos AND updated notes on availability. I found one a couple of years ago on another site out in PA and I ordered it and my card was charged. Then, I was called to say it wasn’t available and would be 6 months if I wanted it made. Your emails were great and was surprised by the fast delivery. PS. My grandma made lots of quilts – log cabin, lone star and many others about 25+ years ago….your quality is on par with hers.
