Broken Star Quilt- King

$795.00

Measures 112″ wide x 118″ long.

The Broken Star design is a large lone star placed inside a curved set of similar diamond-shaped blocks that encircle it and form half-stars. The star pattern is of the oldest and most familiar of all the traditional quilt patterns, but great precision is needed to make all the star points meet and lie flat! The quilt includes an amazing 310 yards of hand-quilting by an Amish or Mennonite woman.

The Broken Star quilt measures generous enough in length to provide for a pillow tuck. Four miniature stars adorn the pillow top. On a king bed, the quilt will hang down about 17 inches per side.

Homemade quilts combine the warmth of a bed cover with a unique story told by the quilters from Lancaster County, PA. Every homemade quilt is as unique as the family, busy mother or Amish ladies group who uses a needle and thimble to thread stitch on the quilt. Some quilts involve hundreds of hours and thousands of stitches to create a unique patchwork quilt that will last for generations.

A quilt is not just a relaxing bedspread: it is also a piece of art. The artists who design our quilts pick top-notch vivid materials and organize them in an eye-catching work of art. Choose from our selection of over 2 hundred Amish handmade quilts for a quilt that best enhances your taste.

While the pieces of fabric are sewn together by machine to ensure tighter sewing, all the quilting is done by hand. 100% cotton materials make up the top and bottom of the quilt. The batting sandwiched between those two layers, however, is 100% polyester. This polyester batting guaranties both heat and also exceptional washing outcomes.

You will discover our quilts to be remarkably sizable in length and width. The majority of our quilts are generous enough to minimize the necessity for a dust ruffle or pillow shams. Just as mattress heights differ, each quilt's dimensions can be different. We post the quilt's dimensions with the calculated drop for you to compare to the measurements you may need. Kindly do your measuring prior to making a purchase!

Washing Quilts?

As a matter of fact, our quilts are undoubtedly washable in a washing machine! We advise complying with these standards for the best care of your heirloom quilt:

Did you know?

Each step of the quilt-making process requires a particular woman's know-how. Each of our ladies specializes in either assembling or quilting. As a result, at the very least 2 ladies are included in making each quilt. The women that sew the tops together specialize in assembling specific quilt patterns. Considering that each quilter's stitches vary, just one lady does the quilting per quilt. This system permits each lady to come to be a specialist in her field.
