Log Cabin Quilt – Queen

$750.00

The Log Cabin Quilt is one of the most popular and easily recognized of all quilt patterns. The clever arrangement of the patches forms a diamond center. It is hand-quilted by one lady to ensure even stitching. This quilt is initialed and dated and will have 19 inches of drop per side on a queen bed with sufficient length for a pillow tuck.

Measures 98″ wide x 112″ long.

Homemade quilts combine the warmth of a bed cover with a unique story told by the quilters from Lancaster County, PA. Every homemade quilt is as unique as the family, busy mother or Amish ladies group who uses a needle and thimble to thread stitch on the quilt. Some quilts involve hundreds of hours and thousands of stitches to create a unique patchwork quilt that will last for generations.

A quilt is not only a comfy blanket: it is also a masterpiece of artwork. The artisans that make our quilts select high quality vivid materials and arrange them into a distinct work of art. Choose from our selection of over two hundred handmade quilts for a quilt that perfectly matches your home design.

Although the fabric pieces are stitched by machine to ensure tighter stitching, all the quilting is done by hand. 100% cotton materials compose the top and bottom of the quilt. The batting sandwiched in between those two layers, however, is 100% polyester. This polyester batting guaranties both heat and also exceptional washing results.

Most of our quilts are sizable enough to reduce the necessity for a dust ruffle and pillow shams. Just as mattress heights differ, each quilt's dimensions differs. You'll find we publish the quilt's dimensions along with the calculated drop for you to compare to the proportions you may need. Please do your homework prior to making a purchase!

Can you wash these quilts?

Fortunately, our quilts are indeed washable in a washing machine! We advise the following guidelines for the best care of your heirloom quilt:

Did you know?

For hundreds of years, a lot of techniques have been produced to make it more convenient for quilt-makers to sew multi-angled quilts together. One of these methodologies is named paper piecing, which is commonly taken advantage of to assemble the challenging corners of the Mariner's Compass quilts. Paper piecing, as it name suggests, uses a special paper pattern on top of which the material pieces are sewn. The pattern helps the seamstress to perfectly stitch the pieces together so that the completed top will lie out flat. Solutions of this sort as this are a very good support to our quilt-makers!
